 | I saw this movie in my Science class! I was intrigued in the mystery, wonder, and thrill of the movie, but I still had questions about the science part of this. For one, Earth hasn't had a geostorm, and as it stands, we have not researched enough to say whether or not Earth had a geostorm yet. And I thought the core ceasing to spin would cause a geostorm.  | Objection: knowing about a heat wave isn't like knowing about an oncoming storm, because it's not a short-term event, and there's no "hop into a car and go for 15 miles and you're safe". In a city, the only way to protect yourself would be basements - not nearly enough of them for that to work - or staying indoors and janking up the AC, which, quick reminder, are heating up the outside same way a freezer warms up your kitchen. And that of course only works in those parts of the world where everybody has an AC.
