 | Something i noticed was that Damon loved Katherine even when he knew she was a monster. And later on he fell in love with Elena and continued to love her whether as a human or a vampire. Whereas with Stefan he was only with Katherine because she compelled his fear away. And later on when Elena became a vampire, he began to fall out of love with her. This leads me to believe that Stefan mostly loved Elena because she reminded him of life as a human (not to mention he admitted that he was only drawn to her because she looked like Katherine), but when she became a vampire, it reminded him of the reality that he was a a vampire and that wasnt going to change, especially because Elena kept complaining about it and he couldnt help her.  | This series was heavily confused by the writers. I have a feeling that each season of this series is not a continuation of the previous season, but a new TV series.
In the first season, Katherine really loved Damon (after all, she turned him into a vampire, passionately kissed him, never bit him or used suggestion on him), and not Stefan. In the second season, it became sharply clear that Katherine loved Stefan, and for some reason already at the beginning of the first episode of the second season, Daiman lost feelings for Katherine. But in the third season, Katherine says that she loved both the Salvatore brothers. And besides this, this series has a lot of other confusion. Take the same Klaus. In the second season, Klaus was the Devil himself, incapable of love and forgiveness.
