 | Bird eating spiders are thankfully not super dangerous, the holiday bird eating spiders venom is about as potent as a bee’s sting.  | I think Coyote Peterson was pointing to the wrong end of the spider. The venom fangs of a spider are on the head near the mouth. This is pretty basic biology. Perhaps he was confused because spiders are arachnids and scorpions are also arachnids and the venom of a scorpion is at the tip of the tail. The spider has venom. The vinegaroon sprays vinegar or something like vinegar, hence the name vinegaroon. The bird-eating spider is a large tarantula. Its bit could be painful but is not dangerous. Definitely has to be a terrifying experience but over the years Coyote has taught me not to fear animals as much.
